"This is a toughy and should make for good discussion.I find the whole concept of this quiz in awful, awful taste. Kate has been fending off questions about her sexuality ever since she started working on the show and quizzes like this really don't help. I know the quiz is only for fun, but personally, I have to agree with Kate: the cast's sexuality is nobody's business but their own and has absolutely no bearing on who their characters are or how they play them. I have a great deal of respect for Kate as an actor and a person and I just find the whole idea of this thing invasive and totally not cool. But I think we all need to support everyone's right to come out, or not, when they're comfortable, not when we'd like them to. Let's leave Kate alone! I definitely agree, being a dedicated fan of Vanessa Carlton people were always asking "who is she dating? Is she single?!" And she said that her private life is her PRIVATE LIFE. People need to respect that. if you want her to be gay, then imagine so! But in reality, it is no one's business but her own. She's a great actress and probably an even better person, that's all that matters.

If I'm not mistaken I thought I read in her Character profile that she was Gay. I may heard it somewhere else. I thik Kate is a great actress, and I like her. She just needs a good stable relationship to settle down with on the L Word. Someone who makes her happy in more ways than one.

To me.. whether she's gay or not doesn't really matters.. sexuality is fluid.. and you just go with the flow... I think.. it's really important that she gets herself a good and stable relationship in real life.. I really hope she'd be able to find her other half who could share her happiness and sorrows with.. she may have many friends around the country who could do so.. but I still hope she'd find her happiness... and.. All the best to Kate

Be kind .....we can speculate for chitchat but outing someone,(or trying to) is an aggregious offence- would you do that to a friend?NO! so then why to our so-called favorite actors? Celebrity's have them just like everyone else. Herstorically, it is significant because traditionally the celluloid closet prevailed. So for us that have lived with the Hollywood facade that leading men had to be straight to pull off the role, and actually had to create that image off-screen to stay employed it is significant. Kate can say what she wants about whose business it is or isn't but it's a shame that people just can't say who they love in this day or age, even if it defies traditional labels. She's rather young, she might not know. The only way to know is how one self-identifies. In Hollywood, it's a lot like the military. Heteros are in your face with their sexuality displayed in their workplace in obvious ways. Meanwhile gays aren't assured of continued employment and hide for the sake of their own and their loved one's security. Sure Kate is safe coming out as gay now, but may that limit her being cast in most of the available roles in the future? Let's face it we're always going to be a minority if you believe any of the statistics. 7 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you? |
