About the relationship: Dana and Lara fall pretty hard for each other, but Lara does not like the fact that Dana is in the closet publicly. Eventually Dana breaks up with Lara during the first season because it is too much pressure. They get together again in the third season, because Dana "needed closure." Lara loves Dana, but Dana tries to push her away when she is dealing with her cancer. Although they never officially break up it is pretty clear that the relationship is over.
